The Art of Chocolate
On April 9, 2026, the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, in collaboration with Tourism Club and the Ankara Gastronomy Association, hosted a seminar and workshop titled “The Art of Chocolate by Gamze Baş.”
Gamze Baş, who was selected as the Best Chocolate Chef of 2025 by Gault & Millau, delivered an inspiring seminar on the art of chocolate. Following the seminar, members of the Ankara Gastronomy Association and students from various departments of our university, participated in a chocolate-making workshop held in the department’s demo kitchen.
At the end of the event, Ela Saraç Akça, President of the Ankara Gastronomy Association, presented a plaque of appreciation to Acting Chair Jamel B. Chafra in recognition of the department’s hospitality. In return, Mr. Chafra presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Ms. Baş for sharing her valuable expertise and experiences with the students.
The event concluded with a group photo featuring the academic staff of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, participating students, members of the Ankara Gastronomy Association, and the guest chef, Gamze Baş.
