To apply as an outgoing Erasmus student;

  • You should have a minimum CGPA of 2.50.
  • You should be currently in your minimum 3rd or maximum 5th registration semester.

If you have the requirements above, you are eligible to submit your application online through the University’s web based program at http://app.erasmus.bilkent.edu.tr/

Then, you will print-out your application forms, sign it and submit the hard copy to their Erasmus Exchange Coordinator at the department along with your CV’s and statement of purposes between a certain deadline. Deadlines change every year, for these deadlines, please contact your Erasmus Exchange Coordinator at the department and check your emails.

If you are interested in going to a university that the language of instruction is different than English, you will also need to submit an official certificate proving their proficiency level in that language. The minimum level should be B2. For those who do not have a certificate proving their proficiency, exams are held, in Italian, Spanish, German and French Languages in the University. The schedules of these exams are announced by the Office of International Students and Exchange Programs (OISEP). Students that would like to take these exams have to notify the Office of International Students and Exchange Programs (OISEP) by a certain deadline (deadlines change every year, as a result, you need to check these deadlines with OISEP) by emailing ysmn@bilkent.edu.tr.

After the end of the application period, OISEP will send you the list of applicants’ rankings based on the above mentioned evaluation criteria by  a certain deadline, so that students can be placed in a partner institution that best fits them. OISEP will be waiting for the final list from you by a certain deadline. OISEP is using a program which can access the student database and calculate the students’ ranking in a particular department. The ranking will be based on %50 CGPA and %50 language proficiency. The language proficiency level of each applicant will be calculated based on his/her score received in ENG 101 (%25) and ENG 102 (%25) courses.  Students with disabilities and children of veterans and martyrs will be given an extra 10 points.  Those students who have applied to the program and placed in the previous years, but later cancelled their applications will be given minus 10 points.

Qualified students’ CGPAs will be checked by the Office of International Exchange Programs at the end of each semester for Fall and Spring outgoings to make sure that they are still qualified for the program.
