Le Piment Rouge hosts Tourism Week event
In connection with national Tourism Week, which takes place April 15-22 every year, Bilkent THM hosts a number of events in collaboration with various other universities in Ankara.
In addition to the lectures and conferences that are held throughout the week, a meeting of representatives from both the public and private spheres with an interest in or authority over the tourism sector traditionally takes place at Le Piment Rouge. In previous years, those in attendance have included Ankara Deputy Governor Fatih Ahmet Kurt, Ankara Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Doğan Acar, Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Director of Promotion İrfan Önal, and officials, executives, and managers from TÜRSAB, ATİD, Skal Turkey, the Ankara Skal Foundation, ANTOD, Sheraton, and ANRO. This special event brings industry representatives and educators together in an informal setting to network and discuss issues in the tourism industry.
Bilkent Tourism Week 2018
On 19 April 2018, meeting of representatives from both the public and private spheres from the tourism industry took place at the practice restaurant of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, Le Piment Rouge. This year, Ankara Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Kamil Özer, officials, executives, and managers from TÜRSAB, ATİD, ANTOD, ANRO and TUREB attended the event to network and discuss issues in the tourism industry. The event included a seminar in which Ankara Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Kamil Özer, TÜRSAB Central Anatolia Regional Executive Committee representatives Engin Şahin and Ercan Durmuş, Secretary General of the Ankara Touristic Hoteliers Association (ANTOD) Esra Çeviker, Head of the Ankara Anatolian Tourism Administrators Association (ATİD) Birol Akman and Head of the Tourist Guides Federation (TUREB) Ahmet Zeki Apalı provided speeches on the Turkish Tourism Industry to the students and faculty members not only from Bilkent but also from Gazi and Hacettepe Universities. This year’s seminar marked the importance of education, promotion and marketing in the tourism industry.
